If you wish to apply for the course, please indicate your interest in the application form.
TFFS will hold interviews at two locations in Spring/Summer 2026.
Interview locations will be in London or Edinburgh, with interviews held over a morning or an afternoon.
You may indicate your preferences via the application form.
At the interview, you will have the opportunity to meet the team and to ask any questions about the course.
You will also be put through a selection process in which you will be asked to carry out tasks in groups and assessed on your performance.
The performance criteria will be primarily based on your attitude to teamwork.
A film production relies heavily upon calm cooperation and collaboration, which will be paramount at TFFS.
You will be assessed on your ability to understand a simple brief, and cooperate with a team.
If you like what you see at the interview and you pass the assessment, you’ll be offered a position at TFFS.
You will need to accept that position in writing and be in a position to pay 50% of the fees in September 2026, and the balance by March 2027.
If you need help with course fees, please contact the school for potential bursaries and support.
The course is not eligible for SAAS funding, but may be eligible for funding from your local authority.
Application Process
Study at TFFS will rely upon calm, open energy and enthusiasm.
The course will run Monday-Thursday, 09:00 - 17:00, for a full year, with occasional opportunities for activity on Fridays.
Selected students will be assigned a role based upon their preference, where possible, and always according to their ability and capacity, at the discretion of TFFS staff.
This assignment will be carried out in open dialogue with each student, to ensure a positive experience for all.
Selected students will be required to approach all filmmaking activities with no expectation of formal hierarchy, regardless of role or department.
All filmmakers (students) will share equal representation, responsibility, and respect. The activities of TFFS and its students must reflect this at all times.
TFFS has its home in a working film production environment, which entails many professional benefits, but also some restrictions.
Students will be bound by strict NDA at all times, and failure to uphold these agreements will result in immediate cessation of on-site participation.
The working environment will necessitate appropriate attire, including sturdy footwear and non-snagging clothing. Daily activities will require physical activity, and preparation should reflect this.
TFFS will be available, year round, to all students, to support them in their filmmaking endeavours and, where necessary, their life outside of film school, in order to promote a confident and capable next generation of filmmakers.
